Can I use my financial aid?
Financial Aid cannot be officially used to sign lease. the first installment of rent must be paid before a resident moves in. After the first installment is paid, the second installment can be deferred if they bring in a copy of their awards letter. The deferment will need to be set to the date that the resident will be receiving their financial aid check.

When can I move in?
All residents will be able to move-in on the general date that The Village at Bluegrass chooses. This date is before school starts and it will not be changed after it is chosen.
(Early move-ins are exceptions and must be approved by management)

What types of leases are available?
We have three different lease type here at The Village at Bluegrass; Two different twelve installment leases which are August to August or May to May. The other is a short-term lease that is ten-installments between the time periods of August and May.

What types of apartments/rooms are available?
The Village at Bluegrass has five different styles of apartments. The first is our 2 bedroom/2 bath. Next, is very homey 3 bedroom/ 3 bath. Then, our most convenient and affordable 4 bedroom/ 2 bath. Finally, two different styles of 4 bedroom apartments.

We are approximately 1.1 miles to the center of campus.

What if I need to cancel my lease?
A lease may be cancelled if the resident provides written notice within 72 hours of signing the lease document.
After this time frame, the resident will need to obtain a "Lease Takeover".

Can I request an apartment or roommates?
Yes. A certain apartment or roommates may be requested if the roommates all agree upon the request.

Is parking available?
Yes. All residents are given a parking pass decal that will need to be displayed in their windshields.

What utilities are included in my rent?
Soft Water, Trash, Cable, and Pavlov Internet are included in your rent. The resident will have to setup gas and electric on their own.

When do I put down a deposit?
The Village at Bluegrass does not require a deposit at this time. Please call the office for details.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?
Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard only. You can stop by the office or pay at home on our website, www.myownapartment.com.

Do I have to have a meal plan?
No. We do not have meal plans at The Village at Bluegrass. Meals plans may be bought at Central Michigan University's Student Services.

How many people live there?
The Village at Bluegrass may house up to 744 residents with 228 apartments to reside in.

How much more does it cost to stay here than on campus?
Our cost varies upon floor plan and lease term. Our resident pays on average approximately $4,400.00 a year for their apartment. The dorms at CMU average cost per resident is approximately $7,200.00 a year.

Will you send me a bill each month for rent?
No. We do not send out installment bills each month. We do provide rent reminder phone calls.

If I am over 21, do I need to have a guarantor?
Yes. Anyone that acts as a guarantor of a resident, must be 25 years of age and have a social security number.
If you do not want to provide a guarantor, then you can provide us with an 1.5 installments of rent that will be used at the end of your term.
(Note: This is not a security deposit)

When is my first payment due?
Your first rental installment is due the 15th of the month before you move-in.
(For example: If you move in August 23rd, your first installment would be July 15th.)

If I pay in full, do I get a discount?
No. At this time, we are not giving a full year discount upon payment.

What size are the beds?
Our beds are a standard full-size.

What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet?
The only thing that is needed to use the internet is a standard ethernet cord.
