Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?

You may bring additional furniture into your apartment, however, the furniture that is already there must remain in the apartment.

Depending on floor plan, beds are either twin XL (39" x 80") or double XL (53" X 80").

If I am over 21, do I need to have a guarantor?

Every University Park tenant under 25 years of age needs a guarantor's signature. Contact the Business Office for further details about this requirement.

When is my first payment due?

The first Fall payment is due July 15th regardless of payment choice.

How many people live there?

Between our Phase I and Phase II apartments, we have 252 units and approximately 900 beds.

How much more does it cost to stay here than on campus?

Depending on floor plan and meal plan, it is less expensive to live off-campus.

Will you send me a bill each month for rent?

University Park does not send invoices. Rent is due the first of every month excluding the very first Fall payment (due July 15th, stated in lease). Late fees are charged after 10 AM on the 3rd day of the month.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?

You can pay any bill by credit (VISA or MasterCard), cash or check. There is no additional charges as long as bills are paid on time.

Do I have to have a meal plan?

No, you do not have to have a meal plan while living at University Park. If you decide to purchase a meal plan, we encourage you to opt for one of the Commuter Meal Plans and use your Dining Dollars at our Satellite Cafe.

What utilities are included in my rent?

Cable with HBO, internet access, water/sewer/trash and property parking. Gas and electricity are separate bills mailed to each apartment and divided among roommates.

When do I put down a deposit?

University Park does not require a security deposit. However, we do require a one-time Facilities/Maintenance Fee of $195 due with lease return.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available for every resident at University Park at no cost. Just be sure to register your vehicle and get a permit from the Business Office.

Can I request an apartment or roommates?

Yes. We have room assigment cards which you will complete once you have signed your lease agreement. You may request whatever you wish, just keep in mind that requests are NOT a guarantee of placement.

What if I need to cancel my lease?

If you need to cancel your lease contract, the first step would be to contact our Leasing & Marketing Director and completing a Withdrawal Form. The student withdrawaling from his/her contract is responsible for finding a replacement tenant. A $200.00 cancellation fee applies.

When can I move in?

Move-In for the Fall is mid-late August and early January for Spring residents. The move-out date for a 10 installment lease is mid-late May and late July for a 12 installment lease.

How close to campus are you?

University Park is conveniently located approximately 2 blocks from campus. That means less than a 5 minute walk!

What is the cost?

Rates are according to floor plan and currently range from $464.00 - $638.00. We also have a one-time Facilities & Maintenance Fee of $195.00 which is due with the return of a signed lease.

Can I use my financial aid?

Yes! You can use your financial aid for rent at University Park. It is the residents responsiblity to keep the Business Office informed about when you receive a reimbursement check from the college.

What types of apartments/rooms are available?

University Park offers several different floor plans:

What types of leases are available?

University Park offers 10 and 12 installment leases leases during the Fall semester. Please be advised that 10 installment leases are only available to a small percentage of our tenants. The majority of our residents are leased for a full year. During the Spring semester, we have 7 installment contracts available.

Where can I store my bike?

There are bike racks located on the first floor of every apartment building. Please stop by the Leasing Office to pick up a bike permit. Don't forget to bring a lock.

Do I need to bring my own utensils and bedding?

Yes! Suggested items to bring with you:
- Plates, bowls, cups, etc.
- Kitchen utensils and silverware
- Cookware
- Bathroom rug, shower curtain, towels, etc.
- Bedsheets/bedspread
- Egg crate and mattress pad
- Curtains and tension/spring rods
*Mini-blinds have been installed*

How do I obtain a temporary parking permit?

If your car is in the shop or you switched vehicles temporarily, stop by the Clubhouse during business hours to pick up a temporary pass. You MUST have proof that the vehicle is not in your possession (i.e. auto shop receipt or work order) before you can pick up a pass.

Where do visitors park?

Parents are the only people we can issue temporary parking passes to. Your guests MUST register their vehicle with a staff member in the business office Monday - Friday 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Visitors need to have a valid photo ID and vehicle information in order to receive a pass. All other visitors MUST park on Wayne Street or near the university. Towing is enforced regularly so make sure all vehicles are registered with the office or parked off property if they do not have a valid sticker.

What should I budget for the gas and electric bills each month?

Per person, the gas and electric bills together will run about $45-55 per month.

What are the hours of operation for the Satellite Dining Cafe?

Salisbury University opens the cafe Monday - Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. They accept Dining Dollars, cash and credit.

How does the wait list work?

Once we fill all of our bedrooms on property, we start a wait list. Anyone who submits an application is added to the wait list for the floor plan of his/her choice and will then be contacted by the leasing office if there have been enough cancellations to write a new lease agreement. We will accept cancellations though mid-August.
