What types of leases are available?
For incoming and transferring residents, our 2010-2011 lease agreement begins on August 14, 2010 and terminates at NOON on July 31, 2011.
For returning residents, our 2010-2011 lease agreement begins on or after August 1, 2010 and terminates at NOON on July 31, 2011.

What types of apartments/rooms are available?
We have 2 Bedroom/2 Baths, 3 Bedroom/2 Baths, 4 Bedroom/2 Baths, and 4 Bedroom/4 Baths. Please call the office at 919-832-8383 to check availability.

We are located directly across the street from NC State University on Western Boulevard.

Our monthly rates for 2010-2011 are as follows:

Can I use my financial aid?
Yes, in some circumstances, financial aid is accepted here since we are considered University Affiliated Housing, but please call the office for details and to see if you qualify.

When can I move in?
Fall 2010 move-in begins on Saturday, August 14th. Move in times are listed below:
Saturday, August 14th: 9AM to 5PM
Sunday, August 15th: 11AM to 5PM
Monday, August 16th & Tuesday, August 17th: 10AM to 7PM
Please note that you will be able to obtain your key without a government issued photo ID (Example: Military, NCSU ID, Driver's License, etc.)

What if I need to cancel my lease?
Once a lease is signed, you are responsible for your lease agreement, unless we are able to replace you, or if you are able to find a replacement.
There is a clause in your lease entitled Assignment that explains that you can find someone to take over your lease and 'assign' it someone else. There is a $200 fee to assign your lease to someone else. Please contact the office for more details regarding this process.

Can I request an apartment or roommates?
Apartments are assigned by the staff, however you may request all or just some of your roommates. We will accommodate your requests as best as we can depending upon availability.

Is parking available?
Parking is an additional $25 per month and individuals are assigned their own spaces within our parking garage. There is not enough parking spaces for each resident, so please note that parking is not guaranteed, and is available on a first come, first serve basis.

What utilities are included in my rent?
All utilities are included in the base rent. This covers water, sewer, trash, central AC and Heat, electricity, high speed internet, cable TV and 6 HBO channels.

When do I put down a deposit?
There is no deposit required, however there is a one time, non-refundable fee of $175.00 due at the time of application.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?
Currently we are not set up to accept credit cards payments. We accept checks and money orders; they may be made payable to The College Inn Apartments and mailed to the following address:

Please be sure to include the resident's first and last name on the check or money order.

Do I have to have a meal plan?
No meal plan is required to live here. Many people still choose to purchase an on campus meal plan or an off campus meal plan.
Our sister property University Towers offers Diner Plus Cards that allow you to eat in their dining hall. Please contact them at (919) 327-3800 for more information.

How many people live there?
The College Inn has 440 residents.

How much more does it cost to stay here than on campus?
It is difficult to compare the costs of on campus living and The College Inn. Our lease agreement is longer than the contract on campus. We offer an on-site pool, fitness center, a tanning bed and a 24 hour clubhouse at your disposal. In addition, every resident has their own bedroom and will only share a bathroom with a maximum of one other person. It's an individual decision and you would have to weigh the benefits of each option.

Will you send me a bill each month for rent?
Rent is due the first of each month and is considered late after 10AM of the 6th. Every resident is given a copy of their lease, which details when and how much money is due. Monthly statements are not sent out.

If I am over 21, do I need to have a guarantor?
Yes, our guarantor form must be completed by all residents.

When is my first payment due?
The first of 12 installments for fall move in is due July 15th for the August 15, 2009 move in date. If you are moving in at a time other than in August, your payment is due before you move in; this will be determined at the time of lease signing.

If I pay in full, do I get a discount?
There is no discount if you pay in full, only peace of mind for the entire year. On the flip side, we do not charge interest to space your 'total rent' out over a 12 month period.

What size are the beds?
The beds are full size XL. We recommend full size XL sheets or queen sheets.

Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?
You are more than welcome to bring your own furniture to the apartment, but you are still responsible for the furniture already in place.

What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet?
The only thing you need is your computer and an Ethernet cord. If you have a laptop and would like to have wireless, then you will need to provide your own wireless router.
