What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet?
You will need the following:
1. A computer running a modern operating system such as Windows 98 or newer, Mac OS 8.5 or newer, or Linux.
2. An Ethernet card with an RJ-45 jack (data port). Usually, this is already built in to new computers. If not, you can purchase an Ethernet card from any computer accessoris retailer. The RJ-45 jack looks similar to a standard phone jack, only larger. A telephone cord will not work.

In many cases -- yes. Be sure to review the documentation for your specific grant, loan, or scholarship to make sure.

In most cases, student aid that allows for campus housing could be used towards your lease at Blazer Hall.

Blazer Hall leases for $2,250 per semester, payable in 2 installments (fall & winter) for a total of $4,500. Although rent is due in two payments, the monthly comparison would be about $478/month, including utilities. This a tremendous value considering the convenience, security, and enjoyability of new residential suites in the heart of UAB, Birmingham's historic Southside area, popular for shoping, dining, and entertainment.
